The recent revelation regarding WhatsApp snooping of at least 1,400 people across the world had kicked up a storm recently. When a question regarding this revelation was raised in Parliament recently, instead of giving a satisfactory response, the government resorted to listing the laws in this regard. It did not clarify whether the government, indeed, had bought the software used for snooping from the Israeli government.
