In the Public meeting held on 22nd August, Sitaram Yechury spoke of growing insecurity, intolerance in the country and unscientific approach of the state. Seeing the current situation in the nation, he goes on to describe it as a 'post truth society' - a situation where the truth relies on beliefs, personality and propaganda rather than on facts or actual reality. He says that in the current time, superstition and religion are being misused for political gains, and creating divide in the country.
