Congress-AAP Clinch Seat-Sharing Deals in Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana for Lok Sabha Polls
New Delhi: The Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), both constituents of the Opposition INDIA bloc, on Saturday sealed a seat-sharing arrangement in four states and one Union Territory -- Delhi, Haryana, Gujarat, Goa and Chandigarh -- for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
This is the second major seat-sharing deal within the INDIA bloc after Samajwadi Party and Congress reached a similar agreement in Uttar Pradesh recently.

For the seven Lok Sabha seats in the Capital, the AAP will put up candidates in four constituencies, while the Congress will fight in three.
The announcement was made at a joint press conference here by Mukul Wasnik, Congress general secretary, and AAP leaders Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj.
The four seats in which AAP will contest are – New Delhi, East Delhi, South Delhi and West Delhi. The Congress will put up candidates in Chandni Chowk, Northeast and Northwest Delhi.
In Gujarat, out of the 26 Lok Sabha seats, Congress will fight in 24 seats and AAP in two – Bharuch and Bhavnagar.
In Haryana, Congress will contest in nine out of the total 10 Lok Sabha seats, while the AAP will put a candidate in one.
In Chandigarh, Congress will contest the lone LS seat. AAP and Congress have decided to fight separately in Punjab for the total of seats.
In Goa, too, Congress will contest both the Lok Sabha seats.
With the breakthrough in seat-sharing arrangements in some crucial states, the INDIA bloc expressed confidence at giving a fight to the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance.
Congress sources told The Times of India, that seat-sharing talks are almost final in Jharkhand, while those in Bihar, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu are in the “pipeline”.
