What do Najeeb’s Mother, Students, and Activists Have to Say About CBI’s Inaction Over the Missing Student?
Najeeb Ahmed, a student of Jawaharlal Nehru University, went missing from the campus exactly one year ago, on 16 October, 2016. The Delhi Police handed over the investigation to the Central Bureau of Investigation, but no progess has been made so far to trace his whereabouts. Ahmed left the campus after a scuffle with members of the Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). One year since Ahmed's disappearance, the students from the ABVP are yet to face any disciplinary action. On 13 October, Ahmed's mother, Fatima Nafees, along with students and activists, held a demonstration outside the CBI Headquarters in Delhi.
