This election season, we have seen many complaints being filed against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his remarks during campaign rallies that violated the Model Code of Conduct (MCC). Be it his communal comments at the Wardha rally, his attempt to garner support using war martyrs or his remark about the nuclear weapons being saved for Diwali, there is no doubt, that he has blatantly violated the MCC. The Election Commission, however, seems to think otherwise, as is clear from them doling out one clean chit after another to Modi. Is the EC trying to protect Narendra Modi?
