Farmers Begin ‘Remove BJP’ Mission; SC Sends Notice to States over Reservation
This is the first time that farmers protesting on Delhi borders have directly intervened in state elections. Neither any leader from the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha is fighting the elections nor supporting any party, but the leaders are travelling and campaigning with the motto -- remove BJP, save the nation. The farmer leaders announced their anti-BJP campaign from poll-bound Bengal and held rallies in Kolkata and Nandigram. On the other hand, the Supreme Court has issued notices to states regarding review of the much-debated ‘Mandal judgement’ on reservation. Senior journalist Urmilesh discusses four major news of the week in this episode of Hafte Ki Baat.
