The Delhi Police Special Cell's action against NewsClick, charging it under the UAPA (Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act) and the raids on October 3, 2023, sent shockwaves among people who stand for democracy. The interrogation of more than 30 journalists and others and seizing not only their personal devices but also of family members, that too without following proper legal norms, was widely condemned.
