Ramon Magsaysay Award winner and Socialist Party general secretary Sandeep Pandey recently returned his award in protest against US's role in the Israel-Palestine conflict. He has also returned the degrees obtained from the US. Speaking with Newsclick, Pandey said he wanted to return the prestigious award during the struggle of Irom Sharmila (in Manipur). He said he decied to retunr the award after drawing inspiration from women wrestlers.
